PINC - People, Innovation, Nature, Community (think TED talks for arts and science) returned to the Sarasota Opera House. The new city commission stuck with giving control of Cross Street to the mystery-developer of a rumored hotel project at the north end of Burns Court - but there is a catch, the developer must bring their site plan back for approval. Does that mean the grand trees lining Cross Street will be spared the axe? Climate scientist Bob Bunting predicted that temperatures downtown would rise by 5-10 degrees if we continue allowing our canopy to be clearcut for redevelopment.
